Free Pattern Plaited Cable Scarf
Here is the (corrected) Plaited Cable Scarf Pattern (Thanks to FiberArts AFloat–the chart was correct, but the text direction for rows 3 & 7 were missing a cable). I hope everyone who tried to knit it used the chart!
Thanks for all the nice comments on it. I hope to put up a narrow version soon; I am going to knit one for DD who is 10. I may also incorporate a seed stitch border on it instead of the garter stitch.
The Paton’s Classice Merino is a great yarn. I washed the finished scarf in shampoo and conditioner. It blocked nicely and turned out very soft. I used up 2 skeins of the yarn and it came out over six feet long. You might be able to get away with one skein if you planned on it for a child and knit it narrower (using 3 purls between 4 stitch cables).
